A Fair Good Time

I came across these simply gorgeous pics by photographer Angelica Peady on her blog and thought I must share them with you. The colours are simply delicious! Andrew and Talitha decided, after a year of wedded bliss, to have an after wedding shoot. With the help of Angie herself they came up with the fabulous fair idea. Talitha opted for a 50's inspired updo by Sofia Rodi while Kat from Petals & Leaves created the outrageously gorgeous lollypop bouquet and matching buttonhole. The venue, the great Hawkesbury Show, takes place one weekend a year in Richmond, Victoria and is the smaller sister show of the Royal Sydney Easter Show. What a fun location, nothing like a day at the show! If you're keen to find out more about Angelica Peady's Couture Bridal Portraits contact her at www.angelicapeady.com.au. As part of the package she suppliers the hair and makeup artist, flowers, accessories and all of the concept designs, in conjunction with you of course. If you're suffering the post wedding blues then this could be the perfect pick-me-up!

Fields on Holiday

I've blogged about Elva Fields and her beautiful jewelery before. You take one look at bher pieces and you find yourself ohhhing and ahhhing... simply amazing! Her latest 2010 Holiday Collection, inspired by easy and effortless glamour, is made by hand in her Kentucky studio and incorporate vintage elements, making each piece eco-friendly and unique. Prices for earrings range between US$46-$98 and necklaces range between US$178-$398. The collection will be available come November online at www.elvafields.com and at various retailers across America, including select Anthropologie stores. I think her pieces would make truly amazing additions to a spectacular wedding or bridesmaids gown.

Backyard Bride

I blogged about these gorgeous DIY engagement party invites (here) that Amy from Eat Drink Chic created a few months ago. I thought I would check back at her blog to see if she had any news on the wedding and saw that her 'engagement party' turned out to be a surprise wedding! Here are a few pics from her wedding, held in her husbands' parent's back yard. Be sure to have a look at her blog for more images and inspiration.

All above photos by Jonathan Ong

The rustic look and colours of Amy's backyard wedding actually reminded me of our backyard wedding styling story that we featured back in Issue 13 (summer 2010).

Hollie & Grytt - A Tropical Escape

When it's winter I'm always thinking of warm, tropical escapes. Take Us To Thailand , the stylers and coordinators, shared this wedding with us and how could I resist with such beautiful waters and such a happy and fun looking couple?!

Hollie & Grytt married in the gorgeous Koh Samui, Thailand, on 25 March 2010. The wedding, with a fun, relaxed and frivolous atmosphere was the perfect way to celebrate their marriage. Friends and family didn't miss an opportunity to holiday, staying at Miskawaan Villas (Villa Lotus), Maenam Beach. Hollie & Grytt honeymooned in Mexico. Photography by Tan Thai Photo. Visit www.takeustothailand.com.au if you'd like to find out more about having a destination wedding in beautiful Thailand.

Put A Ring On It

If you are dreaming of a diamond ring, are patiently (or not so) waiting for him to pop the question or are on the hunt for your engagement ring and happen to have an iPhone then I suggest you hop to it and download the new and free Tiffany & Co Engagement Ring Finder app. The app allows you to select your perfect Tiffany diamond engagement ring, from viewing the range of styles to learning about the superior qualities of Tiffany diamonds. The app also includes an accurate ring sizer, the first tool of its kind from a jeweller, that lets users determine their size by placing an actual ring directly on the screen and aligning it with the correct circle in the guide. Can it be made any easier for the boys?? Genius! The rings are shown true-to-size and each style can be viewed with diamonds of six different carat sizes. You can also zoom in on a ring's details, pair the ring's with wedding bands, and save or share your favourites via email, facebook or twitter. Surely it can't be easier to give that certain someone a hint, hint, nudge, nudge* with this app?! To top it all off you can, after it's all been chosen, make an appointment for a diamond consultation via phone or email. Prices will appear in your countries currency. To access this amazing app simply visit iTunes to download and get diamond hunting!

A Neat Idea

I think this Ring Bearer Bowl and Bouquet Text Tile would make such a cute additon to a wedding ceremony. If a cushion isn't quite your thing then a little bowl, with this sweet inscription is simply gorgeous. A personalised bouquet tile is the perfect match! This October, Paloma's Nest is offering a pink cord ribbon as a US$5 upgrade option to any Ring Bearer Bowl or Bouquet Text Tile. The entire US$5 will go directly to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, benefiting breast cancer awareness. This option will be available in October at www.palomasnest.com.

A Royal Affair

You'd be lying if you said you didn't love a royal wedding. I think at some point every little girl has dreamed of one day becoming a Princess, being swept off her feet and marrying her Prince Charming. In the case of Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden it was slightly reversed. She fell head over heels in love with her personal trainer, Daniel Westling, who goes from a commoner to the very regal HRH Prince Daniel, Duke of Västergötland. They were married in the Cathedral in Stockholm on Saturday in front of 1200 family and friends in the largest royal wedding since Prince Charles married Diana Spencer in 1981. Victoria's cream duchess satin gown with a 16.5 foot train, designed by Pär Engsheden, was paired with the same tiara and earrings her mother wore at her wedding, held on the same day in 1976. A banquet for 500 people was then held at the Royal Palace and was attended by the Kings and Queens of Sweden, as well as other Europen countries including Jordan and Japan.

It's always so lovely to read the tales of how the couples who have their weddings published within WSG fall in love. In the speech Prince Daniel gave to his new bride he recounted the period in which they fell in love. He said, "When Victoria had a long mission to China, that was a month, the night before she should have slept, but instead she didn’t sleep for the whole night and she wrote letters. The next day she gave me a box of 30 letters, that is every day a letter to me". Ohh... how gorgeous! Sigh*
