Princess For A Day

If you've long been inspired by Disney's fairy tales you could be thrilled to discover you'll soon be able to have a wedding dress inspired by the very characters that helped shaped your girly fantasies. Disney have joined forces with designer Alfred Angelo to create the Fairy Tale Wedddings range of gowns inspired by our favourtie fairytale characters Aurora, Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Snow White, Cinderella and Tiana. Personally I think this may be taking the whole 'fantasy' thing a little too far but whatever floats your boat! Available in the USA they will retail for under USD$1,200. If you want more info visit www.disneybridal.com.

Summer Lovin'

The slow warm up to summer has begun! Hoorah! The days are getting longer and the temperature has started to, although at a painfull rate, increase. Of course it's now only 12 weeks till Christmas (insert gasp) so it goes without saying holidays are just around the corner. It also goes without saying that you're going to need a cute bikini to get you through the hot days. I'm a huge fan of ViX by Paula Hermanny swimsuits. Recently named 'Hollywoods most flattering swimsuit' it's no wonder they're loved by Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Anniston, Victoria Beckham and Jessica Biel. They come is super bright shades and are flattering on the curviest of figures. They also do a cute range of beach dresses and kaftans so if you're considering a beach getaway for the holidays or honeymoon then these could be the cossies for you. In Australia they are available online at Trixian Body, Intimate Couture and Love Fashion or call 02 9439 9825 for more info.

Lacy Lovely

I think this J Crew vintage ivory lace gown is simply too pretty for words. With ruffled tiers and dainty fabric-covered buttons it would make a delicious choice for your special day. It pains me to say J Crew isn't yet available in Australia, however it is available on Net-A-Porter so be sure to visit if this gown puts a sparkle in your eye!

Former Home & Away star Kate Ritchie tied the knot over the weekend with ex-NRL star Stuart Webb. Held at Quamby Estate in Hagley (near Launceston in Tasmania) the couple exchanged vows in front of 50 family and friends. Kate wore a beautiful custom-made Steven Khalil gown of guipure lace, delicately hand-beaded with a cinched 50's waistline and tulle skirt while Stuart chose a French navy Hugo Boss suit. Guests included former Home & Away co-stars Bec Hewitt, with her husband Lleyton, and Judy Nunn.

Table Numbers

Table numbers are often overlooked at weddings. If they aren't provided the venue usually uses plastic cafe style black and white options which more often than not detracts from pretty table settings. The below house number tiles have been cleverly used as table numbers and match the theme perfectly. They are available from anthropologie who finally delivers to Australia!

Very Vintage

There's something quite beautiful about vintage clothing. The history, fine craftsmenship and glamour that exudes from pre-loved gowns is quite awe-inspiring. Purchasing a new gown isn't the dream of every bride and if you're on the hunt for that extra special, pre-loved piece (and will be visiting London) be sure to visit The Vintage Wedding Dress Company. Melding her years of styling experince with her talent for discovering exquisite pieces, Charlie has created a unique go-to place for girls who want to wear something completely original but don't have the time, energy or faintest idea where to start. Sourcing gowns from London, Paris and across the world, Charlie has a cult following and is loved by celebrities such as Cate Deely and Australia's own Alice McCall. Not only the place to go for a one-of-a-kind piece, Charlie has also created The Decades Collection to complement her collection of vintage wedding dresses. Comprising of six new vintage-inspired dresses, one from each era from the 1920's through to the 1970's, the collection is elegantly constructed using the silhouettes and essence of decades gone by. Each style has a series of additions that can be selected by the client to personalise their chosen dress; lace sleeves, scalloped hems, decorative trims and edgings. The Decades Collection allows brides to get creative; it offers you the freedom to add a bespoke element to your new vintage-style dress and the versatility to wear your dress again long after you have walked down the aisle. I couldn't think of a more exciting prospect! Be sure to visit TVWDC in Bloomsbury, London WC1, however bookings are essential. The Decades Collection starts from £1,250. Visit www.thevintageweddingdresscompany.com for all the details.

New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2011 - Monique Lhuillier

Opting for a more subdued palette with injections of spearmint green and burnt orange, Monique Lhuillier showed a collection that really epitomises her label - classic, feminie and simple. A super pretty aray of short hemmed dresses added a perfect amount of flirtiness to the collection with splashes of floral patterned fabrics hinting that spring is well and truly on its way. 50's style cinched waists, ruffles and lace embellishments added to the appeal although I would have loved to have seen a couple of longer alternatives. If short is your thing then you're going to love this collection! Visit www.moniquelhuillier.com for details.
