Towers Above

I love discovering new designers who, simply put, create exquisite pieces, pieces that need no words. Thanks to the lovely Kimberlee at Brown Button (her shop is to die for!) I've discovered Kate Towers. Not only are the pieces themselves simply exquisite but the photographs are equally gorgeous.

Self taught through experimentation, an artist's vision, and hands on execution, Kate Towers creates non-seasonal, one of a kind pieces. Playing with contrasting themes and borrowing inspiration from nature and romance, Kate produces everything by hand, piece by piece, from her Portland studio. From it's beginning in 2000 until spring of 2008, Kate was founder and co-owner of Seaplane, a renowned specialty shop in Portland, featuring local designers and an intriguing collection of hand-made clothing. It is here where Kate developed her own line and helped to inspire the fashion scene that is now Portland. Before re-locating to Portland in 1998, Kate studied illustration, graphic design, and fine arts at the New England School of Art and Design in Boston. Her pieces are currently sold at Seaplane in Portland and on her etsy store katetowers.etsy.com.

ooooh - I agree. I nearly died when I saw her stuff. Her designs would seriously be a one stop shop for a bride and her bridesmaids.

Happy New Year to my favourite stylish wedding girls xx
